All new parts have been made and fitted to the tractor for the next season. The new aluminium water injection tank has been made and fitted. The new tank holds half as much water as the old stainless one, which saves about 4.5kg. We have had True Blue started this week for the first time this year to check everything over. A small oil leak, which was quickly fixed but everything else seemed ok. The shatter blanket still has not arrived but we have been told it should be with us before we leave for the first event, so it looks like we will be leaving things to the last minute! We have also made some small changes to the lorry to give better lighting in the living accomodation

The front end of the tractor is nearly completed. Just the little finishing touches left to do. The intercooler piping is finished and in the process of getting a coat of paint. The shatter blanket is unfotunatly still away getting recertified but we hope to have it back in time to get the tractor completed ready for our first event of the year at the Shakey Super Pull. In the next couple of weeks we will get the tractor fired up for the first time this year to check everything is running fine.

A lot of work has been done on the front of the chassis lately to fit the intercooler, battery and fuel tank etc. The inlet manifold is currently being reworked to fit the new piping for the intercooler. We have adapted the intercooler to allow us to fill it quickly inbetween pulls and fitted an extra drain to help empty it quicker. All pictures taken of the work done so far have been added to the webalbum. Click on the picture to see them.

Major work has finally started on True Blue to accomodate our new intercooler, formerly of Ice Bear. The whole front of the chassis is being redesigned to hold the intercooler, fuel tank and battery. The old front of the chassis was very heavy, so hopefully weight will be saved by the new lighter front end to allow True Blue to get in the weight class with the addition of the intercooler and piping.

The last few months have been spent enjoying the festivities (and clearing snow!), not allowing much to be done to True Blue for the upcoming season. Work has started again over the last few weeks though, as some parts have arrived. The shatter blanket has been removed, and is to be sent to Clifton Canvas to hopefully be re-certified for the next few seasons. True Blue is still under a diet to try and hopefully free up more weight. Thanks to Ian Ross for collection of parts.

True Blue wins Best Turned Out Tractor Award from the Scottish Tractor Pullers Club for 2009. We are all delighted to have won as it is the first time we have ever won this trophy. All the time spent polishing and cleaning has finally paid off!

More work has been done to finish sharpening the tyres ready for next year. After this was completed, we began to remove more weight from the rear of the tractor. A large section of the backend was cut off, which weighs approximately 43kg.

The last few weekends have been spent sharpening the tyres for the next season. Over the next few weeks we hope to begin losing more weight on the tractor to give us more moveable weight, which will probably end up going up front!

The 2009 season has finished. True Blue finished 3rd overall in the points standing for the BTPA championship. New ideas are being discussed as to how best to gain more power and stay reliable for the 2010 season, which we hope will see True Blue back up at the top again!
